Easter Sunday of Lord’s Resurrection

(Year C)

Synod 2023: Communion, Participation, Mission.

Jesus Christ is Risen Alleluia, Alleluia. Today we celebrate the source and summit of all praise and thanksgiving to the Father in the Risen Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Today we begin the annual celebration of Christ’s defeat over death and sin. The beauty of this day comes from the promises that Christ is present to us in his Risen form. When we turn to him in prayer we do so to the Lord who brings the Good News of salvation to the whole of creation. This promise of new life gives joyful confidence to us his people, his family. We then are an Easter people who have received the joy of the gospel message, may we bring that authentic love to everyone we meet.

Wishing you and your families a happy and peaceful Easter, may the joy of Christ's Spirit come into your hearts and your homes. From Fr Gabriel, Fr Laurence and the Pastoral Council.

From Bishop Treanor’s Easter Message We all need to hear the Easter message again. With each gift of newborn life, God imparts an opportunity to hear the message of Easter anew. Generations of young people are entrusted with taking up the mission and there are seedlings of growth sprouting anew in our parishes and Pastoral Communities. The synodal pathway started by Pope Francis presents such an opportunity for us all. It is an opportunity to give new vitality to our own involvement in our faith communities and so grow our understanding that we all shape the life and experience of the Church. As in the past, there are indeed many challenges to face. The years of the pandemic have had an impact on pastoral communities and faith practice and it is as if we are all emerging from the tomb into the light of a new dawn.
