The St. Teresa’s Parish Bulletin for Sunday, 18th September 2022
Sunday 18 September 2022
Twenty Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time
Synod 2023: Communion, Participation, Mission.
Sunday Gospel Many times the disciples of Jesus are referred to as ‘Workers for the Kingdom’. Jesus called workers to his side so that the Good News would reach the ends of the earth. He knew that there was no point in calling people who would ‘hang around’, or who wouldn’t bother too much about promoting the values of truth, justice and peace. That is why he has given us the energy of the Spirit, so that we can bring the joy of the gospel message to our community. Today we pray for more energy to do what Jesus asks to be wise enough to put our faith in his promises into the action of our lives.

2022 Season of Creation, this symbol of God’s Spirit calls us to listen to the voice of creation, to the voices of those who suffer the impacts of climate change, to the voices of those who hold generational wisdom about how to live gratefully within the limits of the land. These are voices of the Earth. The global Christian family is called to awaken to the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and with each other and to encourage our parish communities to do the same, “for we know that things can change!” (Laudato Si’, 13).
