The St. Teresa's Parish Bulletin for Sunday, 26th June 2022

Sunday 26th June 2022,

Thirteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time (Year C)

Synod 2023: Communion, Participation, Mission.

Sunday Gospel The gospel is full of stories showing how the first disciples got it wrong. They wanted to use violence, go in the wrong direction, look to the past or get caught up with events that were not important to the service Jesus wanted them to give. The cost of discipleship is everything. For the disciple of Jesus, he is the beginning the middle and the end of what it means to follow after him. Many times we can get lost or absorbed in other trivial events that are usually of no real value or purpose. Jesus teaches how easy it is to forget the core values of discipleship and get lost in ways that are meaningless and selfish. Prayer which leads to service is the disciple’s priority, anything else leads us away from Christ and our love for him.
