The St. Teresa’s Parish Bulletin for Sunday, 28th August 2022

Sunday 28 August 2022

Twenty-Second Sunday of Ordinary Time

(Year C)

Synod 2023: Communion, Participation, Mission.

Sunday Gospel Jesus taught that his followers were to keep their good works of love a secret. He wasn’t promoting a secret organisation because he knew that actions will always speak louder than words, especially words of self congratulation. The life and work of the disciple is something that should not draw attention to itself. When your work in the name of Christ is broadcast, you most certainly have lost any reward from him. Disciples have to be careful that their charity is not trumpeted before them but that they give without any hope of return in this life.

The Season of Creation is marked throughout the Christian world from 1 September to 4 October (Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi) and celebrates the joy of creation as well as encouraging awareness-raising initiatives to protect the natural environment. Prayer to Discover Your Vocation Almighty God, you have made me to know you, to love you, and to serve you, and thereby to find and fulfil myself. I know that you are in all things and that every path can lead me to you, but, of them all, there is one path especially by which you want me to come to you. Since I will do what you want of me, I pray you; send your Holy Spirit to me; into my mind to show me what you want of me; into my heart to give me the determination to do it, and to do it with all my love, with all my mind, and with all my strength, right to the end. Amen.
